The new Tax Calculator estimates your income tax liability for any bracket system — India, US, UK, or custom. It shows effective rate, marginal rate, and a bracket-by-bracket breakdown.

What it calculates

  • Progressive tax — taxes each bracket slice at the correct rate
  • Flat tax — single rate on taxable income
  • Surcharge / cess — percentage added on top of base tax
  • After-tax income — gross income minus deductions minus total tax
  • Effective rate — total tax ÷ gross income
  • Marginal rate — rate on the last rupee / dollar earned

Fully customisable brackets

Add, edit, or remove brackets. Each row sets an upper limit and a tax rate. Leave the upper limit blank for the top bracket (no ceiling). The calculator comes preloaded with India’s old-regime FY 2025-26 slabs.

Disclaimer

This tool is for estimation and educational purposes only. Tax liability depends on jurisdiction-specific rules, credits, and exemptions not modelled here. Consult a qualified tax professional before filing.

Try it

Frequently Asked Questions

Which country is this for?
Any country — you enter the brackets manually. It comes pre-loaded with India's old regime brackets for FY 2025-26 but you can replace them with US federal brackets, UK rates, or any other jurisdiction.
Is the tax calculation accurate?
The calculation is accurate for simple progressive bracket systems with a flat deduction. It does not model jurisdiction-specific credits, phase-outs, or complex rules. It is for estimation only — always consult a tax professional.
