Why 25 minutes?
Francesco Cirillo's original method, named after his tomato-shaped (pomodoro) kitchen timer. Long enough for deep focus, short enough to avoid burnout. Adjust if your work rhythm differs.
Does the timer keep running if I close the tab?
No — it's a browser-only timer. Keep the tab open to stay in sync. The audio cue alerts you even if the tab is in the background.
Can I get notifications on my phone?
Not currently — this is a desktop browser tool. For mobile/cross-device pomodoros, dedicated apps like Forest or Focus To-Do offer better OS integration.
