Compress a PDF for Income-Tax or Portal Upload

The problem

A phone scan of an income or caste certificate is multi-megabyte. Scholarship, e-district, and many tax-adjacent document uploads reject anything over a published KB ceiling. Generic compressors stop at “smaller,” not “≤256 KB.”

Steps

  1. Read the portal’s exact KB limit (and minimum, if any).
  2. Open PDF Compressor.

  4. Compress and confirm the measured output size.
  5. Download and upload. If rejected for reasons other than size, fix content/type next — not more compression.
