India Government PDF Size Limits Checklist

Phone scans of caste certificates and marksheets are often 2–5 MB. Portals built for slow links reject anything over a hard KB ceiling — usually with a vague error. Compress to the published number, measure the result, then upload.

Pre-upload checklist

1. Portal name and document type (income, caste, marksheet, domicile, …)
2. Published max KB (and min KB if stated)
3. One file per document vs multi-page rules
4. Allowed type (almost always PDF)
