What is an F&O lot size?
A lot size is the fixed number of shares in one Futures or Options contract. In India you can't trade a single share in the derivatives segment — you trade whole lots. For example, if RELIANCE has a lot size of 500, one contract covers 500 shares.
How is contract and position value calculated?
Contract value is the lot size multiplied by the current price, so a 500-share lot at ₹1,400 is ₹7,00,000. Position value multiplies that by your number of lots. The tool shows both, plus the total number of shares in your position.
