Resize a Passport Photo for a UPSC Form

Prepare a UPSC application photo to the published pixel and KB rules using Passport Photo Maker — then verify the live notice.

The problem

UPSC (and similar exam) forms reject photos that look fine on a phone: wrong resolution, oversized JPEG, or a busy background. Applicants waste attempts guessing compression in gallery apps.

UPSC and other exam applicants who must upload a digital photograph that matches the cycle’s notice.

Steps

  1. Open the current UPSC advertisement / application instructions and note photo size + KB.
  2. Browse the matching row on /photo-sizes/ if listed.
  3. Open Passport Photo Maker and choose the UPSC (or closest) preset.
  4. If the background is busy, run Background Remover first, then return to the maker.
  5. Download only after the tool shows measured KB inside the band.
  6. Prepare the signature separately with Signature Resizer.

Frequently Asked Questions

Can I use any passport photo shop export?

Only if it matches the current UPSC advertisement’s digital size and KB limits. Print-shop 35×45 mm prints are not automatically upload-ready.

Do I need a separate signature file?
