Project a Milestone Plus 90 Calendar Days

Add 90 calendar days to a project start or contract date — leap-year aware, with weekday output for scheduling.

The problem

Kickoff is 15 January and the plan says “review in 90 days.” Manual counting across February (and leap years) is easy to get wrong. Spreadsheet serial dates help only if the sheet’s epoch and timezone are correct.

Steps

  1. Confirm the plan means calendar days, not business days or “three months.”
  2. Open Add Days to Date (Add mode, days ready).
  3. Set the base date to kickoff (or contract start).
  4. Set Days to 90 (clear weeks/months/years if unused).
  5. Note the result date and weekday for the calendar invite.

Example

Base: 2026-01-15 + 90 calendar days → 2026-04-15 (weekday shown in the tool).

Frequently Asked Questions

Is 90 days the same as three months?

No. Three months follows calendar months; 90 days is a fixed day count. Use months on Date Calculator when the contract says months.

What if the result falls on a weekend?

Calendar-day math does not move it. Only business-day rules or an explicit ‘next working day’ clause shift weekends.

Inclusive or exclusive?

Adding 90 days usually means the date 90 days after the base (exclusive start). Confirm the contract language.
