Boost your eligibility

  • A longer tenure lowers the EMI and increases the eligible amount (but raises total interest).
  • A higher credit score can win a lower interest rate, increasing how much you can borrow.
  • Adding a co-applicant's income raises the combined FOIR limit.

Informational estimate only — not a loan offer or financial advice. Actual eligibility depends on the lender's policy, your credit score, and documentation.

Why it Matters

Before applying for a home, car, or personal loan, it helps to know roughly how much a lender might offer. Banks cap your EMIs at a share of income (the FOIR), so eligibility hinges on income, existing debts, rate, and tenure. A quick estimate sets realistic expectations and avoids wasted applications.

What this tool does

Loan Eligibility Checker estimates the maximum loan you could qualify for. Using the FOIR method that lenders apply, it works out your affordable EMI, the largest principal that fits it, and the split between principal and interest over the tenure.

How it works

Your affordable EMI is your monthly income multiplied by the FOIR ratio, minus any existing EMIs. The tool then reverses the standard EMI formula for your interest rate and tenure to find the eligible loan amount, and can also check whether a specific desired amount is within reach.

Informational only — not financial advice. This estimate is not a loan offer. Actual eligibility depends on the lender’s policy, your credit score, and documentation.

Frequently Asked Questions

What is FOIR and why does it matter?
FOIR (Fixed Obligation to Income Ratio) is the share of your monthly income that lenders allow to go toward all EMIs. Most use 40–55%. Your affordable EMI is income × FOIR minus your existing EMIs, and the eligible loan is derived from that affordable EMI.
How is the eligible loan amount calculated?
The tool first finds your affordable EMI (income × FOIR − existing EMIs), then reverses the standard EMI formula for your interest rate and tenure to find the largest principal that fits that EMI. Longer tenures and lower rates increase the amount.
Is this an actual loan approval?
No. It's an informational estimate, not a loan offer or financial advice. Real eligibility depends on the lender's policy, your credit score, employment, and documentation. Always confirm the exact figure with the lender.
How can I increase my eligibility?
Clearing or reducing an existing EMI frees up capacity, a longer tenure lowers the EMI (but raises total interest), a higher credit score can win a lower rate, and adding a co-applicant's income raises the combined limit. The tool lists these as tips.
Is my financial data stored?
No. All calculations run in your browser. Nothing you enter is uploaded, logged, or stored — refreshing the page clears it.
