What these characters actually are
The styled characters produced by the Unicode Text Styler come from the Mathematical Alphanumeric Symbols block (U+1D400–U+1D7FF). This block was added to Unicode to encode the styled letters used in mathematical notation — bold A, italic A, script 𝒜, fraktur 𝔄, and so on.
Because they are standard Unicode code points (not images, not HTML), they can be pasted anywhere text is accepted. Any device that has a Unicode font (i.e. any modern device) can render them.

Where to use each style
Instagram bio / Twitter name: bold-script and script are the most popular choices. They read well at typical display sizes.
LinkedIn headline: sans-bold can add subtle emphasis to keywords without looking decorative.
Discord username: double-struck and fraktur stand out in chat lists.
Tweet threads: strikethrough for corrections or self-deprecating humour (“I was wrong̶ ̶a̶b̶o̶u̶t̶ ̶t̶h̶i̶s̶”).
Email subject lines (plain text clients): bold and italic styles render as plain text fallbacks if the client doesn’t support Unicode — test before sending to a mailing list.
Accessibility considerations
Screen readers pronounce styled characters as their standard letter equivalents (since they have the same semantic value). However, some screen reader + font combinations may announce them as “mathematical bold letter A” rather than just “A”. Use sparingly and not for body content that needs to be read aloud in sequence.
