“Message us on WhatsApp” buttons convert because they remove friction: one tap, the message already written, send. Today we’re launching the WhatsApp Link Generator so you can build those links correctly in seconds.
What it does
Enter a phone number and an optional message, and you get a wa.me click-to-chat link, the api.whatsapp.com equivalent, and a ready-to-paste HTML anchor for a chat button. The message is URL-encoded automatically — emoji and line breaks included — and the number is validated so the link actually opens the right chat.
The format trap it solves
Most broken WhatsApp links fail for the same reason: the number isn’t in WhatsApp’s required format. It must be digits only, in full international form, with no +, no spaces, and no leading zero. The generator cleans your input and warns you about the common mistakes. Our click-to-chat guide explains the rules in full.
Pairs well with
Add UTM parameters to the destination when you put a chat link in an ad so you can attribute conversations to campaigns, or use the mailto link generator to offer email as a fallback contact method.
What’s next
The free generator is here to stay. For businesses, we’re planning a Pro tier with branded short links, click analytics, a QR code, and an editable message after sharing. For now, build one-tap chat links for free — try it out.
