Random Decision Maker is now live on Tools.Town — a fun, practical tool for choosing randomly from a list of options, with optional weights, a spinning wheel animation, and saved lists for decisions you revisit regularly.
Can’t decide where to eat lunch? Which task to tackle first? Let the wheel decide.
What Does It Do?
Spin the Wheel
Enter your options, hit Spin, and watch the wheel land on a random choice with a satisfying animation.
Weighted Options
Assign different weights to options — a higher weight means more likely to be chosen.
Saved Lists
Save your option lists to local storage so recurring decisions are ready instantly next time.
All data is stored locally in your browser — your lists are private and persist across sessions.
How It Works
Add options
Type your choices into the list — one per line. Assign weights if some options should occur more often.
Spin
Click Spin and watch the animated wheel. The selected option is highlighted when it stops.
Accept & go
The winner is shown clearly. Spin again if you need to, or save the list for next time.
Why We Built It
Sometimes you genuinely can’t decide, and any option is acceptable. Externalizing the choice to a random selector removes decision fatigue from low-stakes decisions — where to eat, which movie to watch, which task to start first when everything feels equal priority. It’s also great for teams to pick a presenter, a reviewer, or a meeting facilitator without awkwardness.
