There’s no single “correct” ideal weight, so the new Ideal Weight Calculator doesn’t pretend there is. It shows four respected clinical formulas at once, plus the healthy BMI range for your height — giving you a sensible band instead of one misleading number.

What it does

  • Four formulas — Devine, Robinson, Miller, and Hamwi, side by side.
  • An average for a single, easy-to-read figure.
  • Healthy BMI range (18.5–24.9) for your exact height.
  • Metric or imperial height input, results in kg and lb.
  • Fully client-side — nothing you enter is uploaded.

Why four formulas?

Each formula was derived for a slightly different purpose, so they disagree by a few kilograms. That spread is honest: it reflects how fuzzy the whole idea of “ideal weight” really is. Seeing them together — and inside the BMI band — is far more useful than trusting a single figure.

Informational only

These formulas know only your height and sex; they can’t see muscle, frame, or body composition. The result is a starting point for a conversation, not a medical target. Always talk to a doctor or registered dietitian before making significant changes.

Frequently Asked Questions

Which formula does it use?
All four classic ones — Devine, Robinson, Miller, and Hamwi — shown side by side with an average, plus the healthy BMI weight range for your height.
Is this medical advice?
No. The formulas use only height and sex and ignore muscle and frame size. Treat the result as a rough guide and consult a doctor or dietitian for personalised advice.
