Focus Timer is now live on Tools.Town — a clean, configurable countdown timer designed for focused work sessions, with browser notifications, an audible alert, and a completed-sessions counter.

Set your target duration, start the timer, and work. When the time’s up, you’ll know — even with the tab in the background.

What Does It Do?

Countdown

Set any duration from 5 minutes to 3 hours. The large countdown display keeps you aware of remaining time.

Alerts

Browser notification and audible chime fire when the session ends — tab doesn't need to be active.

Session Tracking

Counts completed sessions so you can gauge your daily focus output at a glance.

The timer continues running if you switch tabs or minimize the window — your session won’t be interrupted by other browser activity.

How It Works

Set duration

Choose a preset (25, 45, 60, 90 min) or type a custom duration in minutes.

Start focusing

Click Start and switch to your work. The timer runs in the background.

Get notified

An alert fires when the session ends. Mark it complete and start the next one.

Why We Built It

The Pomodoro technique is popular, but 25-minute sessions don’t work for everyone. Deep technical work often needs 60–90 minute blocks. Focus Timer gives you a timer without the opinionated structure — just a reliable countdown, a clear alert, and a session count so you know how productive the day has been.

Frequently Asked Questions

How is Focus Timer different from Pomodoro Timer?
Pomodoro Timer follows the fixed 25/5 minute cycle. Focus Timer is fully configurable — set any duration from 5 minutes to 3 hours without a built-in break structure.
Will it notify me when the session ends?
Yes. Browser notifications and an audible alert fire when the countdown reaches zero — even if the tab is in the background.
Does it track completed sessions?
Yes. A session counter shows how many focus blocks you've completed in the current browser session.
