The new Calorie Calculator estimates how many calories your body uses each day and turns that into practical targets for any nutrition goal.
What it does
- Estimates TDEE from age, sex, weight, height, and activity using Mifflin-St Jeor.
- Shows goal targets for mild and standard weight loss, maintenance, and weight gain.
- Suggests a macro split (30% protein / 40% carbs / 30% fat) at maintenance.
- Flags unsafe targets that fall below a sensible calorie floor.
Why we built it
A reliable calorie number is the anchor for planning meals or tracking progress, and guessing it leads to frustration. We based the estimate on the formula dietitians most recommend, kept the activity options clear, and added a safety guardrail so the tool never quietly suggests an extreme deficit. Like all our calculators, it runs entirely in your browser.
Try it
Open the Calorie Calculator and find your maintenance number. To understand BMR, TDEE, deficits, and macros, read BMR, TDEE and Calorie Targets, Explained. For the resting baseline alone, see the BMR Calculator.
